Cambodia's Acting Head of State Sends Condolences to Vietnam Amid Typhoon Yagi Disaster

Phnom Penh: In a letter addressed to H.E. Mr. To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, expressed profound sadness regarding the devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi, which has struck the northern regions of Vietnam.

In the letter, Samdech Techo Hun Sen conveyed his deep sorrow upon learning of the typhoon's catastrophic impact, which has resulted in over 200 fatalities, more than 800 injuries, and significant damage to infrastructure. The situation has necessitated the evacuation of numerous families from affected areas.

"During this moment of profound grief, I extend my sincere sympathy and condolences to you, and through you, to the families of the victims and to the Government and the people of Vietnam for these immense losses," the letter stated. The Cambodian Senate President expressed a shared sense of loss and solidarity with Vietnam in facing such a tragic calamity.

In closing, Samdech Techo Hun Sen conveyed heartfelt wishes for the victims who have lost their lives, hoping they may rest in peace, and offered thoughts for the swift and complete recovery of those injured in the disaster.

The letter underscores the strong ties between Cambodia and Vietnam, especially during times of crisis, as both nations continue to work together to support one another through challenges.
